
The AW-500-1E was G-Shock's first analog-to-digital combination model. Launched in March 1989 at a pre tax price of JPY11,000 (US$112), the AW500-1E smashed the stereotype of anolog watches being weak, and that the movement with its gears and hands are unable to withstand shocks from impact like its digital counterparts.
Used models today command as high as JPY48,000 (US$488).
